Romantic weekend getaways in Michigan are a must for every couple. All couples need to take some time away from the craziness of their everyday lives is to just hang out and enjoy each other’s company. A weekend getaway is just right to rekindle that spark that may have been extinguished by the errands, stress and work that are a part of your daily lives. My husband and I make it a point to have these mini vacations at least once every two months. To be honest, I would recommend that it be done every month, but sometimes other commitments just don’t allow us that much time to pack our bags and just leave.
Simple Romantic Weekend Getaways In Michigan
Going on a romantic trip does not have to be fancy or luxurious. The whole purpose of a romantic getaway is to spend quality time with one another. Enjoying the simple pleasures like the lively sights and sounds at Ann Arbor is a wonderful way to spend the day. There is a wide array of quirky sidewalk cafes, shops and cultural sites that can be found at Ann Arbor. It is also very close in proximity to famous tourist attractions like the Michigan Theater, the University of Michigan, Kensington Beach, Planet Rock and the Cobblestone Farm Museum.
Rest And Relaxation
Another laidback option for a weekend getaway is to get pampered at a nice hotel. It doesn’t have to be a 5-star luxury suite. Finding a hotel room that has a few amenities like a good spa, a comfortable bed and scrumptious room service is all you need to have a memorable weekend. If you can find an affordable room with a hot tub, that would be even better. Sometimes all you need is to put yourselves in a new environment.
Romantic Weekend Getaways In Michigan-Outdoors
For those that enjoy the outdoors, there are a few things that you can do in Michigan. Although camping may not sound like a relaxing vacation, it can actually be quite fun and working together really creates a strong bond. The first time I ever went camping I had such a fun time. If you are apprehensive about sleeping outdoors, a good alternative would be to rent an RV. This way you can still enjoy the views but have the comfort of a real bed and working bathroom when you need it.
Always remember that you do not need to make a ton of money to take a short getaway. There are so many things that can be done that are surprisingly cheap. Get creative and do something fun at a local park or lay out on the beach. Something that I always make sure to do is book my hotel accommodations in advance. Sometimes you can negotiate better rates that way. Going on vacation during the non-peak season is also a way to save some extra cash. Romantic getaways in Michigan are totally doable with a little preparation and an open mind.
